Add currency code or symbol to price into feed.

Google Shopping, Meta (Facebook), Pinterest, Bing and most other channels expect a price in the format 29.99 USD — the number, a space, then a three-letter ISO 4217 currency code. If your feed ships a bare 29.99, or the wrong code, those channels reject or misprice the item. This guide shows how CTX Feed adds a currency code to the price for you, how to change or add one manually, and how to output a currency symbol (like $ or €) when a channel or marketplace wants that instead.

How CTX Feed formats price by default

Price attributes in CTX Feed (price, sale price, and their with-tax versions) are resolved as bare numbers. The currency is then added as a suffix on the attribute row. For the “money format” channels — the Google family, Facebook, Pinterest, Bing, TikTok and Snapchat — CTX Feed does this automatically:

• When you pick a price, current price or sale price value in the mapping table, CTX Feed fills that row’s Suffix with a space and your store currency (for example USD), and sets its Output type to Price.
• The Price output type writes the number with two decimals, a dot and no thousand separator (or, in Pro, with the Number format boxes you filled in on the Filters tab); the suffix appends the code. The result is 29.99 USD. A row left on the Default output writes the stored value as-is (29.99, 16980).

So for a normal Google or Facebook feed you usually don’t have to do anything — the currency code is already there. CTX Feed never replaces a code you typed in the Suffix: whatever is there is exactly what the feed carries. If you clear the suffix the price ships as a bare number — except on a multi-currency store, where the feed’s Feed Currency fills in for an empty suffix. The sections below are for changing the code, adding one on a channel that doesn’t auto-fill it, or switching to a symbol.

Where the currency setting lives

Everything happens on the Make Feed screen (open CTX Feed → Make Feed, or edit an existing feed from Manage Feeds):

1. Open the Config tab, where the attribute mapping table lists one row per feed column.
2. Find the row whose Value is your price attribute (price, current price, sale price, etc.).
3. Click More (or the header’s Show prefix / suffix / command toggle) to reveal the row’s Prefix, Suffix and Command fields. Prefix and Suffix are free; Command requires CTX Feed Pro.

The Suffix is appended to every value in that column; the Prefix is prepended. Those two fields are how you attach a currency code or symbol.

Add or change the currency code

To append a currency code to the price:

1. In the price row, open More and put the code in the Suffix field — for example USD, EUR, or GBP. CTX Feed adds the space before a bare currency code for you (29.99 USD); a leading space you type yourself is fine too.
2. Repeat for any other price rows (sale price, etc.) so every price column carries the same code.
3. Click Save & generate.
4. Open the file from Manage Feeds → Preview and confirm the price reads number + space + CODE.

If your feed’s price already shows the auto-filled code and you just need a different one, edit that same Suffix field.

1. Output — Price, which writes the number in the standard format.
2. More — opens the row’s extra settings.
3. Suffix — the currency code added after the number.

Keep the code in step with the feed currency

If a multi-currency plugin is active on your store, the Make Feed Feed settings show a Feed Currency dropdown (a Pro feature). Changing it re-syncs the currency suffix on every price row automatically — a USD suffix becomes EUR the moment you switch the feed currency to EUR, while any custom (non-currency) suffix you typed is left alone. You never have to hand-edit each price row after a currency change.

Add a currency symbol instead of a code

Some marketplaces or price-comparison sites want a symbol ($29.99, €29.99) rather than an ISO code. A symbol goes in the Prefix, because it sits before the number:

1. In the price row, open More and type the symbol into the Prefix field — for example $, €, or £ (no trailing space, so it hugs the number).
2. Leave the Suffix empty if you only want the symbol, or keep a code there if the channel wants both.
3. Save & generate and preview.

Important: Google Merchant Center and Meta require the ISO code, not a symbol. Use a symbol only for a channel, marketplace, or custom feed that explicitly asks for one — putting $29.99 in a Google feed will cause price errors. When in doubt, use the three-letter code.

Troubleshooting

• Price shows the number with no currency at all. The row’s Suffix is empty. Open More on the price row and add USD (with the leading space), then regenerate. On the Google/Facebook family, re-picking the price value in the Value column re-triggers the auto-fill.
• The code appears twice (29.99 USD USD). The code was typed into both the Suffix and the value (for example a Text row or a custom field that already holds 29.99 USD). Keep it in one place only.
• Wrong code after switching store or feed currency. The Suffix keeps whatever code it holds. Changing the Feed Currency in the editor re-syncs it automatically; after changing the store currency, edit the Suffix on each price row to the new code (or re-pick the price value to re-fill it).
• Symbol shows as ? or mojibake. That is a file-encoding issue, not a price issue — CTX Feed writes UTF-8. See Fix the CSV File UTF-8 Encoding Error.
