How to Download Error Reports from Google, Facebook, Pinterest?.

When a channel rejects some of your products, the fastest way to fix them is to read the channel’s own error report — it names each affected item and the exact reason. The report lives inside the platform you submitted to (Google Merchant Center, Meta Commerce Manager, or Pinterest), not inside CTX Feed. This guide shows where to download each platform’s error report and how to turn those errors into concrete changes in CTX Feed so your catalog gets fully approved.

The overall workflow

Fixing feed errors is a loop between the channel and CTX Feed:

  1. Download the error report from the channel (steps per platform below).
  2. Read the reason for each rejected item — a missing attribute, an invalid value, a bad category, and so on.
  3. Adjust the feed in CTX Feed — usually on the Config tab (attribute mapping), Category mapping, or the Filters tab.
  4. Regenerate the feed from Manage Feeds and let the channel re-fetch it.
  5. Re-check the report after the channel reprocesses your feed.

Because CTX Feed reads the feed URL on the channel’s own schedule, always Regenerate after a change so the channel picks up your fix on its next crawl.

Download errors from Google Merchant Center

Google reports item-level problems under diagnostics:

  1. Sign in to Google Merchant Center.
  2. Open Products (in the newer Merchant Center Next, look under Products → Needs attention, or Diagnostics).
  3. Review the list of item issues — each row shows the affected products, the issue name, and its severity (error, warning, or notice).
  4. Use the download control on the issues list to export the report (CSV) so you can work through it offline.

Common Google errors and where to fix them in CTX Feed:

  • Missing GTIN / brand / MPN, or “identifier_exists” problems — map the correct identifier attributes (GTIN, Brand, MPN) on the feed’s Config tab.
  • Missing or invalid google_product_category — set it with Data mapping → Category mapping.
  • Missing required fields (title, description, price, image, availability) — add those attribute rows on the Config tab.
  • Price mismatch between feed and landing page — regenerate the feed after price changes, or clear the cache first.

Download errors from Meta (Facebook & Instagram) Commerce Manager

Meta surfaces feed issues per data source:

  1. Open Meta Commerce Manager and select your Catalog.
  2. Go to Catalog → Data sources (or Diagnostics) and select the data source you created from your CTX Feed URL.
  3. Open the issues view to see the affected items and reasons. Meta lets you download the list of items with issues.

Common Meta errors and their CTX Feed fix:

  • Missing required fields (id, title, description, availability, condition, price, link, image_link, brand) — add the matching attribute rows on the Config tab.
  • Invalid google_product_category — set the category via Category mapping.
  • Image issues — make sure an image attribute is mapped and that products have valid featured images.

Download errors from Pinterest

Pinterest reports catalog ingestion problems in its Ads/Catalogs area:

  1. Open Pinterest (Ads → Catalogs).
  2. Select your data source (the one built from your CTX Feed URL).
  3. Review the ingestion/processing report, which lists rejected products and the reason. Export or copy the affected items.

Fix Pinterest errors the same way — most map back to a missing or invalid attribute you can correct on the feed’s Config tab, or to the product’s category via Category mapping.

Fixing the errors inside CTX Feed

Once you know the reason, make the change in the right place:

  • Wrong or missing attribute value — open the feed (Manage Feeds → the feed’s name), go to the Config tab, and map the correct product attribute to the channel field. Use a Prefix, Suffix, or a Command transform when the value needs shaping.
  • Wrong category — use Data mapping → Category mapping to map your store categories to the channel’s taxonomy.
  • Items that should not be in the feed at all (out of stock, no price, no image) — exclude them with the Product eligibility toggles on the Filters tab (requires CTX Feed Pro) so they stop triggering errors.
  • After any change, click Regenerate on the feed and wait for the channel to re-crawl.

Troubleshooting tips

  • Fixed the feed but the channel still shows errors. Regenerate the feed, then give the channel time to re-fetch — most platforms recrawl on their own daily schedule, but you can trigger a manual re-fetch in the channel’s data-source settings.
  • The feed itself looks wrong. Open the feed URL in a browser (the Open feed icon in the Feed URL column on Manage Feeds) to inspect the generated values before blaming the channel.
  • Products are missing entirely from the feed. That is usually a filter or category rule, not a channel rejection — see the “missing product” guides below.
