How to make feed for specific categories?

Sometimes you don’t want your feed to include every product category. Maybe you sell electronics and clothing but only want to advertise clothing on a specific channel. CTX Feed lets you include or exclude specific product categories from any feed in just a few clicks.

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1 — Open the Filter Tab

Go to your Feed Configuration page and click on the “Filter” tab. This is where all product filtering options are located.

Step 2 — Find the Categories Option

Within the Filter tab, locate the “Categories” section. You’ll see two dropdown fields — one for selecting your categories and one for choosing the condition.

Step 3 — Select Your Categories and Condition

Use the first dropdown to select the product categories you want to work with. Then use the second dropdown to choose your condition:

  • Include — Only products from your selected categories will appear in the feed.
  • Exclude — Products from your selected categories will be removed from the feed.

Step 4 — Generate the Feed

Click Generate Feed. Your feed will now reflect the category filter you’ve set — either showing only the included categories or hiding the excluded ones.

  1. Like many big stores, we have over 70 categories.
How to only display 1 of the many categories? Because adding 69 categories to the filter is problematic.

Also, the Advanced Filters > Product Category / Parent Category / Parent Category ID / Product Category URL all seem to not work and the error code is “No Products Founds using your filter”. Please help!

  2. Hi, is it also possible to include 2 categories and exclude one or more sub category from it?

    include: machines
    exclude: machines –> spare parts

    thank you

      1. Hi, I need to do the same as above but the issue I am facing is that it excludes the products.

For example the same product appears in (machines) and it appears in sub category (spare parts). If I exclude (spare parts) it removes all of the products even if I put the primary category to include.

        include: machines
        exclude: machines –> spare parts

The only thing I need to do is to reduce the number of categories that shows as there is many showing but not exclude the products.
