How to Deactivate the License?.

Deactivating your license releases the seat CTX Feed Pro is using on a site and returns it to your plan, so you can activate Pro somewhere else. There are two ways to do it: from the plugin on the site itself, or from My Account on webappick.com, where you can see every site your license is activated on. This guide shows both, what happens when you deactivate, and when you should deactivate rather than simply cancel your subscription.

This applies to CTX Feed Pro only. The free CTX Feed plugin has no license to deactivate.

When to deactivate

Your plan includes a set number of seats — one per site you can run Pro on (for example, one, five, or ten sites). Each activation uses a seat. Deactivate a license when you want to give that seat back, most commonly to:

• Move Pro to a different site. Deactivate here first, then activate on the new site with the same key.
• Retire or rebuild a site. Free the seat before you take a staging site down, migrate, or reset a development install.
• Clear an “activation limit reached” error. If every seat is in use, deactivating an unused site frees one so a new site can activate.

Deactivating is not the same as cancelling your subscription. Deactivating only releases a seat; it does not stop billing. To stop renewals, see Cancel subscription.

What happens when you deactivate

• Pro features switch off on this site, and the page reloads so the locked state is applied everywhere.
• The seat is returned to your plan and becomes available for another site.
• The key is removed from this site’s stored license record. Your key itself remains valid — you can re-activate it here or on another site at any time.

The license is removed from your site even if the licensing server cannot be reached at that moment. If that happens, CTX Feed still clears the local license here and shows a notice that the server could not be reached. In that case the seat may still count on your WebAppick account for a while. From CTX Feed Pro 8.0.26, the plugin retries releasing it automatically during its weekly license check until the server confirms. Deactivate from the plugin

Use this when you can still open the site’s WordPress dashboard.

1. In your WordPress dashboard, open CTX Feed, then go to System → License.
2. On the active license card (the one showing the green Active pill and your plan details), find the footer strip at the bottom. It reads “Deactivating frees the seat for another site. Pro features switch off here until you activate again.”
3. Click Deactivate license. There is no confirmation dialog, so the license is released straight away.
4. A “License deactivated” message appears, then the page reloads and the License page returns to the Activate CTX Feed Pro state, showing the key field again — this confirms Pro is now switched off on this site.

1. Active pill — Pro is unlocked on this site; next to it, the renewal date or Lifetime.
2. Manage license key — opens My Account → License keys on webappick.com.
3. The details grid — PRODUCT, EXPIRES, SITES and the masked LICENSE KEY.
4. Deactivate license — frees this site’s seat.
5. License messages — the current status, such as “License verified”.

Deactivate from My Account

Your WebAppick account lists every site your license is activated on, so you can free a seat for any of them from one place. Use this when the site is gone, you can no longer log in to it, or you want to see which sites are using your seats.

1. Log in at webappick.com and open My Account → License keys.
2. Under Per-product keys, find your CTX Feed Pro order. Sites used shows how many of your plan’s seats are taken (for example, “3 of 5”).
3. Below the order, each activated site has its own row with the date it was activated.
4. Click Deactivate next to the site you want to remove. The seat goes back to your plan straight away and Sites used drops by one.

1. Master key — works for every plugin and license you own.
2. The per-product key for your CTX Feed Pro order.
3. Sites used — how many of the plan’s seats are activated.
4. Manage — open the plan’s details.
5. Deactivate — frees the seat of that one site.

The site itself is not told about this. If it is still running CTX Feed Pro, its License page keeps showing the license as Active. On a site you can still open, deactivate from the plugin instead, so the seat and the site stay in step.

Re-activating later

Because your key stays valid, re-enabling Pro is just a normal activation: paste the key back into the License key field on the License page and click Activate. See Activate license for the full walkthrough.

Troubleshooting

• “Deactivation failed.” The request never reached CTX Feed on your own site — usually a security plugin, firewall or CDN blocked it — so nothing changed and Pro is still active. Allow requests to your site’s REST API (/wp-json/) and try again.
• “License removed from this site. Note: the license server could not be reached…” Pro is off on this site, but the seat may still be counted on your account until the weekly retry reaches the server (Pro 8.0.26 or later). To free it now, deactivate it from My Account.
• The Deactivate license button gives a permission error. Only administrators can deactivate the license; Shop Managers can’t.
• I can’t log in to the old site any more. Deactivate it from My Account — no access to the site is needed.
• I only wanted to stop paying. Deactivating does not cancel billing. Cancel the subscription in your WebAppick account instead — see Cancel subscription.
