As your store grows or your needs change, you may want a CTX Feed Pro plan that covers more (or fewer) sites. This guide explains how to upgrade or downgrade your CTX Feed Pro subscription, what changes on the plugin side after you do, and the one thing to check first before downgrading so you do not accidentally lock a site out of Pro.
Plan changes happen in your WebAppick account, not inside the plugin — the subscription lives on the WebAppick store where you bought it. CTX Feed then reflects the new plan automatically.
What “upgrade” and “downgrade” mean here
A CTX Feed Pro plan is defined mainly by two things:
- How many sites (seats) it covers — for example, Single Site, Five Sites, or Ten Sites.
- Its billing term — a yearly subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase.
- Upgrading usually means moving to a plan with more seats (Single → Five Sites) or to a higher/lifetime tier — so you can run Pro on more sites, or stop renewing.
- Downgrading usually means moving to a plan with fewer seats — for example, dropping from Five Sites to Single Site because you no longer run five installs.
How the plugin reflects the change
Your license key stays the same across a plan change. What changes is the activation limit — the number of seats the key allows. After the store updates your plan:
- The SITES value on the License page (CTX Feed → System → License) updates to the new total — for example, from “1 of 5 used” to “1 of 1 used” after a downgrade, or a higher total after an upgrade.
- CTX Feed re-checks the license with the server automatically once a week, so the new limit appears on its own. There is no refresh button; to see it sooner, deactivate and re-activate the key, which asks the license server again.
Before you downgrade: free the extra seats
This is the important step. If you are reducing your seat count, make sure the number of sites currently activated is not higher than your new limit. For example, if Pro is active on three sites and you downgrade to a Single Site plan, two sites now exceed the plan.
To avoid problems:
- Decide which site should keep Pro.
- On every other activated site, open CTX Feed → System → License and click Deactivate license to free its seat. (See Deactivate license.)
- Then complete the downgrade in your WebAppick account.
Do this while the license is still valid, so each site releases its seat cleanly.
How to change your plan
- Go to webappick.com and log in to your account.
- Open My Account, then the Subscriptions (or orders) section.
- Open your CTX Feed Pro subscription (click Manage). Under Subscription totals, click Upgrade or Downgrade next to the plan and choose the new one; billing is adjusted accordingly.
- If you do not see an option to switch — for instance, moving between a yearly subscription and a lifetime plan, or between plan types that cannot be switched directly — contact WebAppick support from your account. They can move you to the right plan and sort out any proration.
- Cancel — stops the subscription from renewing.
- Auto renew — whether the plan renews by itself or by manual renewal.
- Upgrade or Downgrade — switch to another CTX Feed Pro plan.
After the change is confirmed, return to your site and check the SITES value on the License page (or deactivate/re-activate to refresh it).
Troubleshooting
- The new seat count hasn’t appeared. Wait for the weekly status check, or deactivate and re-activate the key to refresh it immediately.
- A site shows “License could not be verified” after downgrading. The license server no longer counts that site as active — usually because more sites were active than the new plan allows. You have 7 days before Pro locks there: decide which sites keep Pro, deactivate the rest, and re-activate the one you want within the new limit.
- The license server refuses a new site after upgrading. The activation error comes straight from the license server. Wait a few minutes for the account change to go through, then click Activate again; if it still refuses, contact WebAppick support.
- No switch option in your account. Contact WebAppick support to change plans manually.
